The 2009 SLK-Class is a 2-door, 2-passenger convertible sports car, available in 3 trims, ranging from the SLK300 Roadster to the SLK55 AMG Roadster. Upon introduction, the SLK300 Roadster is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 228-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The SLK55 AMG Roadster is equipped with a standard 5.4-liter, V8, 355-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

• Bi-Xenon headlamps : deliver superior visibility over halogen headlamps because their brighter, whiter light is much closer to natural sunlight.

• Corner-illuminating foglamps : To help you see better in the dark when making tight turns at low speeds, the corner-illuminating foglamps shine toward the area on the inside of the turn. Turning the steering wheel or using the turn-signal indicators at low speeds will trigger this function, which is particularly useful in parking structures, residential areas, or when turning into driveways.
